CS Advanced Topics 1st Quarter Plan

Welcome to CS Advanced Topics!

Since you already know how things work, there is no need to delay letting the fun begin! ;-) During this week, You should finalize your project for 1st quarter. By tomorrow, you and your partner (if you are working with one) should setup your website and complete the project form. Please fill this form out completely, with evident pride in your work. This will be your first grade for the course. I will go over your proposals and give you feedback on your website, as well as discuss your project with you in class. Once your project is approved, you can get started with it.

Topic Guidelines

1. Your topic should be directly related to Computer Science or Information and Communication Technology, as described in the course description.
2. Your project should directly contribute to the general level of CS and ICT knowledge and expertise within the Yorktown High School community.
3. Your project should be able to be completed with the resources available within the CS/ICT program.

Suggestions for Topics

1. Any study leading to industry certifications: A+/Net+/CCNA/LPI etc.
2. Internet Telephony and Asterisk.
3. Graphics programming for the OLPC.
4. Network programming for the OLPC.
5. Multimedia applications (Blender, Kino, etc.)
